So you’ve got to write a presentation and you don’t know where to start. We’ve all been there! Whilst there’s no mathematical formula to a great presentation, there are certainly some key rules to follow to help you put together a successful presentation. First of all, it’s helpful to remember a few do’s and don’ts, so we’ve put together a list to get you started.

  • Do make sure your information is clear and in a logical order.
  • Do use lots of relevant images - remember ‘a picture tells a thousand words'.
  • Do use a style that matches the subject matter, i.e. is your presentation a serious corporate presentation or is it a fun motivation presentation?
  • Do practice your vocal delivery – after all, you want to engage your audience!
  • Don’t use too much text on a slide – your audience won’t be able to read it or digest the information.
  • Be careful of using certain animations – some animations just don’t look professional and can ruin a perfectly good presentation!
  • Do make sure your text is legible and readable at the distance you will be presenting at.

So there’s a few points to get you started. We’ll be giving out some more tips on putting together a great presentation, so check back soon!
